It is important to us to get the word out…Tasmania has a fantastic botanical larder overflowing with wonderful tastes. There are over 150 edible native plants growing in this little island!
We offer interactive workshops and presentations…what edible plants will grow in your garden….what do I do with my native harvest?….what is edible in the Tasmanian bush?. Check out the photos and promotional brochures in the photo gallery to see what we’ve already delivered.
If you or your group is interested in having us come and talk to you – send me an email at feistytasmanian@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you to discuss it.
Carol Bryant of Devonport City council wrote this about a recent workshop:
Rees delivered a hands on workshop at the Devonport Food and Wine Festival 2017 showcasing how to use a range of Tassie native plants in your day to day cooking repertoire. Participants enthusiastically jumped in and learned how to use the seeds and flowers of our local species to maximise their flavour and nutrition value. A fascinating workshop and fun as well. Rees has a natural style of engaging and motivating people to understand, appreciate and take care of the natural environment – even better that this can all be done in your backyard. Thanks again Rees and I can’t wait to have you back for another session!
